A Safe Space For All

At Steel City Notary, we believe in creating an inclusive and welcoming environment for everyone, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. We are committed to providing respectful and affirming notary services to all individuals, including members of the LGBTQIA+ community.

Our Commitment to Inclusivity

    • Respect for Pronouns: We will always use your preferred pronouns. Please let us know how you would like to be addressed.
    • Honoring All Identities: We respect all gender identities and sexual orientations.
    • Trained and Understanding Staff: Our team members have undergone Persad Center’s LGBTQIA+ training, GLSEN Safe Zone training, or are members of the LGBTQIA+ community themselves, ensuring they are equipped to provide a comfortable and respectful experience.
    • Confidential and Non-Judgmental Service: We understand the importance of privacy and confidentiality. Your personal information will always be treated with the utmost respect.

Addressing the deadname in the room

Updating the name and gender marker on legal documents like state IDs, passports, birth certificates and Social Security cards is an important step.

Sometimes in the course of identity affirming notarizations, it is required to inspect identification documents that reference the name you were assigned at birth. We understand that reconciling those two identities for legal or governmental purposes may be harmful and we apologize for any discomfort or dysphoria it may cause. We always treat our clients seeking gender affirming notarizations with respect; including addressing you by your chosen name.

Know that you are valid, and our aim is to treat you with respect as we help you achieve your goals.

We strive to create a safe and welcoming space where everyone feels valued and respected. If you have any questions or concerns before scheduling an appointment, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us!
